About the Fort Erie Market
The Town of Fort Erie is situated in the southern region of the Niagara Peninsula. It is bordered by Niagara Falls to the north and the City of Buffalo is located on the opposite side of the river. The town is the fourth largest municipality in the Region of Niagara. Fort Erie is served by most modes of transportation. It is bisected by the QEW, providing direct links to major Ontario centres and the New York State Thruway, while the Canadian National and Penn Central Railways also provides connections to Ontario and New York State destinations.
Fort Erie has experienced incredible, nearly unprecedented growth within recent years. In 2016 alone the municipality saw 256 new residential homes developed. The Town saw $95.5 million invested in development projects in 2016, and there are currently 33 active development applications within the Town of Fort Erie. In 2017 the development in the Town has yet to slow down momentum, as the large municipality continues to grow.
