The City of Burlington, Ontario has been ranked one of the best places to live in Canada and its downtown waterfront is vibrant area of the city. Developers are looking to invest in growing the network of waterfront properties. The area provides close proximity to the 400 Highway series, international airports and the GO train network and offers spectacular views for both residential and commercial developments. As part of a $210 million Burlington Bridgework live-work-play project, a new hotel and condo project has been proposed, filling the demand for high-calibre development on the waterfront.
Attracting new visitors
Delta Hotels and Resorts unveiled plans for a new hotel and condo project. The project, expected to open in 2018, will be the city’s first four-star hotel. Delta Hotels and Resorts is committed to developing the project as a destination spot, bringing in travellers, both business and tourist to the area. With a 3,000 sq. ft. main ballroom and full-service restaurant and lounge, they are also hoping to attract large events as well.
As a larger part of the Bridgewater project by the Mady Development Corporation, there will be 169 condo units in two towers. Prices for the condo units will run upwards of $3.5 million and will feature 11,000 sq. ft. of service and commercial space. The project will result in a significant number of jobs created, both during the construction phase and through completion.
A prime location for the City
Construction on the hotel and condo project will begin in 2016 and will be developed in a prime location in
Burlington’s downtown core. In addition to close proximity to waterfront trails and shopping, visitors and residents will have easy access to different forms of transportation in the area, including international airports (Hamilton Munro International Airport and Toronto Pearson International Airport, the GO train network, and the 400 Highway series.
Burlington’s waterfront continues to evolve through infrastructure expansions and private developments.
